| weekend #11 : part [1] |
Sabtu yang cerah, 14 Oktober 2006, gw dateng ke sebuah workshop yang diadakan oleh anak2 VCF, berjudulkan Evangelism Enrichment Course. Workshop ini terbagi tiga sesi, namun karena sore harinya ada ibadah KP di gereja, so gw cuma ikut dua sesi.
Mohon maaf karena saya lupa nama pembicaranya =P
Yang pasti beliau ini kalo ga salah liat sih... Indian. Dan sekarang sedang jadi staff apaaa... gitu di NTU. Sudah menikah. Dan cara memberikan materinya menarik =)
Topik sesi pertama adalah APOLOGETICS.
Berdasarkan definisi yang diberikan oleh om wiki,
Apologetics is the field of study concerned with the systematic defense of a position. Someone who engages in apologetics is called an apologist or an "apologete". The term comes from the Greek word apologia (????????), meaning defense of a position against an attack.
apologia juga berarti : to speak back
ayat2 pendukung untuk apologetics adalah:

So, apologetics ini berbeda dengan evangelism. Apologetics bukanlah pengabaran Injil. Apologetics lebih ke arah 'to live such a way and prepare to give an asnwer!' Which means, practically, hiduplah sebagaimana yang dikehendaki oleh Tuhan. Dan selalu bersiap ketika ada yang bertanya pada diri kita. Pertanyaan yang dimaksud adalah pertanyaan seperti why do u behave like that. Dan behave di sini adalah behave Kristiani. Alurnya adalah... As a christian, you have a hope. Then, by that hope, you get the joy. And the joy will bring you to behave in such a way. In the end, people will ask you the questions. Notice that when a person ask, he/she is ready to recieve the answer.

Why people hate christianity?
Kata sang pembicara, alasannya adalah HYPOCRACY, yang didefinisikan oleh om wiki sbb:

Ya, mungkin ada benarnya. Saatnya mengoreksi diri =)
The aim of apologetics is to inspire question about belief systems. It's not to convert!! Mohon diperhatikan baik2 ya. Apologetics bertujuan hanya untuk menginspirasikan pertanyakan, bukan untuk mengubah keyakinan seseorang.

Dan hal penting bagi seorang kristen yang melakukan apologetics adalah EVALUATING the question, meet the need behind the question. Jawablah sesuai dengan THE NEED itu. Ada orang yang bertanya karena memang terinspirasi untuk bertanya. Tapi ada juga lho orang yang bertanya karena ingin 'mencobai' lewat pertanyaan. Ya seperti orang2 Farisi yang mencobai Tuhan Yesus ^_^
Last but not least, PRAY.
Huaaaaa... berat juga ya. Tapi begitulah hidup. However, tanpa perlu mempelajari teori seperti ini, memang sudah seharusnya belajar behave apologetics =)

Ada yang menarik di sesi kedua. Yaitu ketika ditanya, kapan Anda menerima Kristus? Dan benar, ada dua golongan di ruangan itu. Pertama, orang yang tau betul waktu dan tempat bahkan sampe menit dan detik kapan ia memutuskan untuk menerima Kristus sebagai Tuhan dan Juruselamat. Kedua, orang yang seperti saya ini, tidak pernah menyadari kapan sih sebenernya gw menjadi seorang Kristen?
But... satu hal yang membuat gw tersenyum di sesi kedua ini adalah ketika keluar statement dari si pembicara. Bahwa, kalau kita termasuk golongan kedua (yang gw define di atas), meski kita ga sadar banget kapan sebenernya kita memutuskan untuk ikut Kristus, tapi saya, anda, kita (who are christians), PUNYA ALASAN, mengapa saya, anda, kita, tidak mau convert ke keyakinan yang lain.
Well, tepat sekali.
Dan semua berlalu melalui proses pembelajaran yang panjang.
Apakah keyakinan yang Anda jalani saat ini adalah KEYAKINAN WARISAN?
Kalau jawabnya YA, saran saya, silakan dievaluasi lagi mengapa Anda masih mau melanjutkan warisan tersebut.
Ketika Anda sudah mendapatkan alasannya, then berarti keyakinan yang Anda jalankan sekarang bukanlah warisan. Tapi sudah menjadi PILIHAN HIDUP Anda.
